In The Mood For

I'm not feeling particularly party-ish tonight. The mood is not striking me. Went over my head like a flying carpet. I'm happy as a clam sitting here with a cold Coke and my iPod nano stuck in my ear. Somehow, listening to music or watching a music video on my iPod soothes my tired soul. It has been a very hectic week, and my mind has been too focused on serious stuff that I haven't found time to simply enjoy the better things in life. I'll probably drop by the culminating activity of the photography class at Amigo Mall, but I will go home early to mope while waiting for my hubby to come home. Or I will probably drop by Lapaz to pick him up. Whatever I feels like doing later. For now, I'm wired into my iPod.

My Husband's Gift To Me

I was just over at Rocawear , watching one of their style guide videos. My husband bought me a dress recently. It was gray, which is not a color I'd wear in any style or design. However, because it was a gift from my other half, I had to find a way to wear it as fashionable as possible. Good thing I found the Rocawear site where its style guide guru, Vashtie Kola, gave free advice on accessorizing with bags, necklaces or belt to glam up a simple attire. I have my long black stone necklace and a nice white handbag that will go well with that gray dress and jeans. I wish I had boots, but high heels will do.

Know What Constitues Disability Under Social Security

I was surprised to find substance addiction disorder as a disability under the social security disability list of medical conditions. However, this is in relation to mental disorders brought by substance addiction. The person may lose a job, but still get support for his or her disability. To decide whether you are disabled, we use a step-by-step process involving five questions: Are you working? Is your condition "severe"? Is your condition found in the list of disabling conditions? Can you do the work you did previously? Can you do any other type of work?

Stockings For Varicose Veins?

If only compression stockings are as sexy as these. Image via Wikipedia Remember when I wrote that article on having large veins on the back of my hands ? Although there are many solutions for those large veins on one's hands, the solutions for varicose veins on one's legs may not be as simple. Some solutions may require surgery and hospitalization. Others may only need a special lotion and wearing special stockings, which you can easily buy online. Compression stockings online have different types: gradient and anti-embolism. Gradient compression stockings are worn by patients that can still walk, while anti-embolism compression stockings (or TED stockings) are worn by non-ambulatory patients. Both stockings are looser at the top than around the ankles to encourage blood circulation and to lessen pressure of blood in the veins. Compression stockings are mostly worn by medical patients, but you can also wear them if you have a problem with blood circulation as shown by b

Protein Shakes For Defined Abs

I was watching the fifth episode of Glee the other night when the great abs of Sam caught my eye. His dedication to physical fitness reminded me of a friend who wants to lose pounds and build up muscle. His target was to slim down to 165 pound with only 6% or so body fat. He wants abs, baby! We got to talking about slimming down techniques. I said that drinking water was a good way to slim down. He replied that drinking protein shakes is what is important to build muscles. he said they are the best muscle building supplement when a guy wants abs on his stomach. There are many sources of protein. You do not even need a special powdered mix to make your protein shake. You can easily use eggs or soya milk to make a good protein drink.

Online Weight Loss Programs Take Self-Help Programs Higher

Self-help guides are great for people who like to do it their own way and feel comfortable in moving forward without need of constant feedback. However, when it comes to losing weight, constant feedback is vital. Without it, a person does not know whether the diet program he or she has been following truly works. In some cases, constant feedback through weighing in and measuring tape is not enough. Although an individual may feel motivated, at first, to lose weight, the toll of constantly watching what you eat and disciplining one's self to ignore cravings and to follow through a schedule of activities, such as exercise and meditation, can take over and weaken one's resolve eventually. It takes a strong person who is deeply determined to shed the pounds to be constantly on guard. Having a friend watch your back and knowing that people closest to you support your endeavors is a strong boost. If you need a good support group, then you can also check out online weight loss pro

How do I Get Rid of Large Veins on the Back of my Hands?

Image by Paul Garland via Flickr I think I need a quick hand job badly... Since my adolescence I have already noticed large veins sticking out under my skin on the backs of my hands. The rule that anyone can tell one's age from the back of his or her hands is wrong when applied to me. I already had these large veins since high school! They are as prominent now as they were before. Now I have aged, but I am not thin anymore. Yet, the large veins remain visible. They lose their size when I lift my hands and the blood rush back down my arms. Sometimes, it's fascinating to watch how the back of my hands change in appearance when I lift them up and then put them down in front of me. I searched around the web for some solutions, but most articles refer to anti aging treatments because they believe these veins only appear as we age. Bollocks! I have had them since I was ten! Some people had the same problem, but not because of aging. They were too thin or had lost fat on tha

Acne Solution Myths

Image via Wikipedia Although they may sound or read like they have scientific bases because they explain in detail the possible causes of your acne, especially when the explanation involves biological terms. However, it seems the common beliefs surrounding acne solution tips we have learned from and shared with friends may not actually be the whole truth! Here are some acne solution myths that may surprise you. Acne Solution Myth #1: Acne is caused by poor hygiene. Acne is not primarily caused by dirt or too much oil on your face. Some people may produce excess skin oils and live with dirt all their lives, but not all of them develop acne on their faces. What can actually cause your skin to break out is the loss of protective oils and moisture on your face. Your skin needs moisture and surface oils to stay supple and soft. If the skin is too dry or stretched, then it can easily break from too much scrubbing or rubbing from face washing. The type of ingredients in your facial pro
