I was surprised to find substance addiction disorder as a disability under the social security disability list of medical conditions. However, this is in relation to mental disorders brought by substance addiction. The person may lose a job, but still get support for his or her disability.

To decide whether you are disabled, we use a step-by-step process involving five questions:

Are you working?
Is your condition "severe"?
Is your condition found in the list of disabling conditions?
Can you do the work you did previously?
Can you do any other type of work?

A brief vacation

I have just got back from UP Diliman for a week of respite. I had training for trainers at UP SoLaIR (School of Labor and Industrial Relations). It was a working vacation.
