Ground Coffee Scrub
Don't throw away those ground coffee beans you still have in your pot. You can use them as your main ingredient in your homemade body scrub. Mix 1/4 cup ground coffee with 1/4 cup brown sugar. Add 2 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil and three-fourths of a teaspoon of Vitamin E oil. If you don't have a bottle of this stuff, then you can slit three capsules of Vitamin E and squeeze out the liquid inside. Use a safety pin or needle to pierce the gel capsule.
Coconut Vanilla Sugar Scrub
This recipe requires only three ingredients:
1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
Mix them altogether and let the mixture solidify in a plastic or glass container. Use as facial or body scrub in the shower. Rinse thoroughly.
Citrus Salt Scrub
Aside from brown sugar, you may use sea salt to scrub away those dead skin and grime. Health-wise, they're the same as table salt. However, they have bigger particles with extra minerals that make them perfect for a scrub.
In this recipe, mix 1/2 cup of sea salt with 1/2 cup of coconut oil. You may also use another natural oil made from almonds, jojoba, or olives. Add a teaspoon of lemon or lime. You may also squeeze an orange or grapefruit and use the juice. Another suggestion is to blend these into a citrus zest mix. Rub this homemade scrub all over your skin for a rejuvenating cleanse.
