Aging Skin Problems What You Can Do About It

Aging skin problems are going to affect everybody as they grow older. But do not despair, there are many things that you can do to delay their effects or bring about some improvement if you are already seeing those unwanted effects.

Many aging skin problems are caused by the skin becoming more dry as we get older When you pinch the skin on the back of your hand, an older person's skin will stay slightly pinched for a few moments while a younger person's skin will show nothing and this is because our skin loses its elasticity.

The effects of this dryness and loss of elasticity are wrinkles on the face and other parts of the body. Virtually everybody notices this because it's one of the most common aging skin problems.

It will also help if you moisturize with a good anti aging cream. The hands should be moisturized regularly since they quickly show the signs of aging. After showering, use a body cream. Pay particular attention to the elbows, knees and shins which can be problem areas for dry skin.

You should also treat the skin from the inside. You need to give it food and water that will help keep it healthy and provide it with the building blocks it needs. You need to drink plenty of water and try spreading it through the day. Be sure to eat at least five servings of fruit and vegetables a day - ten is better. Your body needs vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals and this will give you a good chance of consuming all these.

Another thing that happens as we age is that the cells of our body are not replaced so fast. You'll notice that recovering from minor illnesses such as colds may take longer and that wounds heal more slowly as well. This shows that the replication and growth of cells are slowing down.

There are positive aspects in the deceleration in cell replication. Cancer developing more slowly in older people than in younger ones is one example. This is because the cancer cells do not replicate so fast when we are older.

But the slowing down of the healing process also has some negative effects, as we have already seen. Recovery and healing times are longer. In some cases this can lead to more serious aging skin problems such as ulcers. Skin ulcers can form where a wound is extremely slow to heal.

If you have serious aging skin problems like these, you might want to consider taking a supplement that will stimulate the production of human growth hormone. The effects would be the cells replicating and recovering a lot faster. Younger people have a lot more human growth hormone than seniors.

Human growth hormone is very popular with Hollywood celebrities. This was considered as the cure for aging. It's unlikely we'll go as far as that, but it can help with many skin problems.

Skin Care Benefits of Using Sulfur Soap

A sample of sulfur (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Despite its acrid smell, a bar of sulfur soap brings many health benefits to your skin through its antiseptic, anti-fungal and antibacterial qualities. In olden times, individuals had to take a dip in sulfur-rich hot springs located at a distance from an active volcano. Spas often appeared around these areas to provide patrons privacy and comfort while they visited the pools of heated water and sulfur. Many people frequented these places because the hot water therapy soothed their aching muscles and the sulfur healed their skin problems, such as acne vulgaris, whiteheads, blackheads, eczema, rosacea, scabies, and seborrheic dermatitis. Now, sulfur's cleansing properties are packaged neatly in soap bars. The ten percent sulfur content in the soap has enough potency to effectively produce the same effective results as dipping your whole body in a pool of sulfur-rich hot water. Like in the ancient times, use sulfur soaps to reme

How Do You Treat Scalp Acne and Scalp Dermatitis?

A case of Seborrhoeic Dermatitis on the back of the head (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) If you suffer from pimples on the scalp, then it's important to find a good scalp acne treatment. They're ugly, painful, and irritating. We can't see them ourselves so we pick them often by scratching our scalp before knowing they're there. Scalp wounds tend to bleed and this can make the spots visible, especially if your hair is thinning, fine or very short. Most acne on the scalp has the same cause as acne on the face, that is, overproduction of sebum leading to blockages of hair follicles, which often become infected. Inflammation can be caused by a condition called seborrheic dermatitis , and this, together with oily skin, is what you have to go along with scalp acne. What happens is the scalp will be red and itchy and the skin will flake off as dandruff. Associated with the condition of seborrheic dermatitis and more serious cases is yeast and it's someti

A brief vacation

I have just got back from UP Diliman for a week of respite. I had training for trainers at UP SoLaIR (School of Labor and Industrial Relations). It was a working vacation. At least I had time to slow down and not think of work for a few days. It was good! Really felt good to be taken cared of by the University Hotel staff.
