Acne can be difficult to deal with no matter how old you are, but it can be especially embarrassing when it happens to adults. You probably figured that, once you stopped being a teenager, you wouldn't have to worry about it anymore; and that is why those blemishes are such a disappointment when they happen in later years. Fortunately, there are some effective home treatments for acne to help adults get their bearings after the tumult of adolescence..

There are lots of causes for adult acne, but some of them are easier to treat than others. Some women with acne can get rid of it simply by changing the kind of cosmetics they use, as the cause of the condition was chemicals you have a bad or allergic reaction to. Cosmetics that aren't high quality often contain chemicals that can cause acne. If you think this could be causing your acne, replace your current make-up with natural made make-up. Another cause for women can be hormones, and this can be set off by taking birth control pills. For adult women, sometimes the acne can be cured by making a couple of easy changes.

You can often cure or at least reduce acne by making changes in your diet. Foods that contain sugar and processed elements can contribute to your skin condition so cut out things like bad fats, carbs, junk foods and soda. Caffeine and alcohol also need to be avoided because they can make your acne worse. Some people are sensitive to meat and dairy products, but in some cases you can be healthier by reducing them a little or switching to organic varieties. You can cure your acne naturally by getting regular exercise because doing so cleans out your system. As you eat better and get more exercise it is also very important to drink lots of water. Getting rid of the toxins in your system is important to curing acne and drinking lots of water is good for that.

Healthy fats is just one way to treat acne. Acne is a kind of inflammation and healthy fats like fish oil are great methods for counteracting that. Other foods that are high in healthy Omega fats include nuts like almonds, walnuts and cashews, avocados and olive oil. At the same time, you should stay away from unhealthy fats, especially trans fats, which are commonly used in hydrogenated oils and most junk foods. The type of fat you take in when you eat can have a lot to do with the condition of your skin, and you may find that improving in this one area helps to clear up your acne.

While acne is very common in both adults and teenagers, it is not something that you are forced to live with. If you have a serious case of acne, you might think about talking to a dermatologist but for the most part, home remedies like the ideas talked about in this article, can be equally effective in naturally treating acne.

Skin Care Benefits of Using Sulfur Soap

A sample of sulfur (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Despite its acrid smell, a bar of sulfur soap brings many health benefits to your skin through its antiseptic, anti-fungal and antibacterial qualities. In olden times, individuals had to take a dip in sulfur-rich hot springs located at a distance from an active volcano. Spas often appeared around these areas to provide patrons privacy and comfort while they visited the pools of heated water and sulfur. Many people frequented these places because the hot water therapy soothed their aching muscles and the sulfur healed their skin problems, such as acne vulgaris, whiteheads, blackheads, eczema, rosacea, scabies, and seborrheic dermatitis. Now, sulfur's cleansing properties are packaged neatly in soap bars. The ten percent sulfur content in the soap has enough potency to effectively produce the same effective results as dipping your whole body in a pool of sulfur-rich hot water. Like in the ancient times, use sulfur soaps to reme...

How Do You Treat Scalp Acne and Scalp Dermatitis?

A case of Seborrhoeic Dermatitis on the back of the head (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) If you suffer from pimples on the scalp, then it's important to find a good scalp acne treatment. They're ugly, painful, and irritating. We can't see them ourselves so we pick them often by scratching our scalp before knowing they're there. Scalp wounds tend to bleed and this can make the spots visible, especially if your hair is thinning, fine or very short. Most acne on the scalp has the same cause as acne on the face, that is, overproduction of sebum leading to blockages of hair follicles, which often become infected. Inflammation can be caused by a condition called seborrheic dermatitis , and this, together with oily skin, is what you have to go along with scalp acne. What happens is the scalp will be red and itchy and the skin will flake off as dandruff. Associated with the condition of seborrheic dermatitis and more serious cases is yeast and it's someti...

A brief vacation

I have just got back from UP Diliman for a week of respite. I had training for trainers at UP SoLaIR (School of Labor and Industrial Relations). It was a working vacation. At least I had time to slow down and not think of work for a few days. It was good! Really felt good to be taken cared of by the University Hotel staff.
