Although it has been more than 4 months (and counting!) since the typhoons, Ondoy and Peping, struck the Philippines, the online auction shop of artists Anne Curtis, et al continues to gather funds for the rehabilitation of those whose homes were destroyed and whose lives were forever changed by the typhoons.Anne is supported by her friends Angel Locsin, Dimples Romana, Shaina Magdayao, Judy Ann Santos, and other showbiz stars in this philanthropic endeavor. They have donated some of their branded bags, shows, belts, jackets, pants, dresses, and others for auction.
The site, www.shopandshare.ph, is connected with an eBay store of the same name. All items are displayed both at the website and the eBay shop, but bidders can only bid at eBay. This is why they are required to be eBay members and to have Paypal accounts. The bids are in dollars, not in pesos, considering that the items are branded, such a Fendi bag or a pair of Gucci shoes.
Most of the bidders come from abroad, but local bidders are also very much welcome. All proceeds of the auction will go to NGOs, such as the Philippine Red Cross and Abs-CBN's Sagip Kapamilya, that take care of distributing the donations to those who needed them.
For those who are not interested in buying anything from the site can choose to directly send their donations through Paypal, Xoom or a bank-to-bank transfer through BDO Unibank.
