Fish oil is more popularly known as good for the heart, but also good for the skin? Yes, it was found out that fish oil is high in three kinds of essential, non-saturated fatty acids called Omega-3s: α-linolenic acid (ALA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). By 'essential', it means that it can not be created by your body and you will have to include it in your diet.
According to a health fellow in his blog post "Natural Skin Care," a study conducted on 24 women revealed positive results. After taking fish oil supplements for 3 months, it was found that there was a 10% increase in skin elasticity among the women by the end of the experiment.
The omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil also enhance one's mood and helps in the development of embryos in pregnant women.
