It is quite normal to expect people to want to look attractive and this might explain why anti-aging skin care products are so successful; reducing the visible signs of aging is the goal for many people as they grow older, and why shouldn't it be? We achieve this with beauty products that synthesize the production of the protein collagen; collagen makes up approximately 25 percent of the total protein in the skin.
Vanity plays a large part in the use of popular anti-aging skin care products and treatments; it is not unreasonable to want to continue looking youthful for as long as possible when you consider how much longer most of us are living! We achieve this with beauty products that synthesize the production of the protein collagen; collagen is so abundant, it makes up about a quarter of the total protein content of structural protein found in skin. This area of anti-ageing treatments is connected to another group of products that help people to look young; this group is called antioxidants and apart from their cell repairing ability, they may be able to reduce the risk of cancer and heart disease.
Probably the best known of these anti-oxidants is vitamin C although no-one really knows just how much we should have each day. The main problem when using any skin care treatments which use vitamin C is that oxidization can occur as soon as they have contact with the air.
Other skin care treatments which mimic the effects of vitamin C are being tried all the time which are hoped to be more stable in the atmosphere and also cheaper to produce. However, these anti-aging skin care treatments are not as effective vitamin C based products, although vitamin E and Lipoic acid are also anti-oxidants and have similar effects.
Found in human blood, vitamin E is not only an antioxidant but is designed to boost the immune system's resistance to illness; one particular disease it may help to prevent is certain types of cancer. Lipoic acid is found in every single human cell and helps provide energy; it is also able to help reduce and restore the skin's aging process.
The use of plants has not been overlooked either with many types able to provide essences called phytochemicals which have proved successful in anti-aging skin care products. Phytochemicals prevent occurrence of certain types of cancer; these include:
*Prostate Cancer in Men
*Breast Cancer in Women (and occasionally men)
*Colon Cancer
These types of cancer are also becoming some of the most prevalent worldwide.
Other vitamins from the B group are also used in anti-aging skin care like vitamins B5, B6 and B12 for example. The field of anti-aging skin care products is vast and needs a great deal more research. Although current regimes are quite effective, there are many ways to combat the effects of time; more long term effective methods will eventually be found to reverse or slow down the effects of aging.
With the research that is now taking place, many people are confident that in time, more effective, cheaper anti-aging skin care products will be discovered. It may be time to learn that not every synthetic anti-aging product is going to work; we must not forget however, that there are many more natural methods we can all use to reduce the signs of aging on a regular basis. Regular sleep patterns, exercise, a good healthy diet and less stress will all contribute to reducing the signs of aging, for instance!
All these options will help slow down the aging process. My wife is now using the "Facial-Gymnastics" which she got me doing too, I was very surprise of the results. I feel less stress on my face and the wrinkles are less visible! You can check it for yourself at http://www.facial-gymnastics.com
