I often wear my husband's sweaters to bed

Image via Wikipedia Because I always have some difficulty sleeping when it is cold, I have begun working nights instead of days. It is hard staying awake, which is why I have begun using caffeine, chocolates, and energy drinks extensively. Aside from staying awake, I also have difficulty dealing with the cold. The brrrrr months are here and the nights have gone colder than usual. I have begun using my husband's thick sweaters to keep me warm. I used to have one of my own, but I think I lost it years ago. I was in high school when I got it. Now, I'm more than thirty. It is only expected that we lose some of our clothes along the way. Good thing my husband loves to buy sweaters, cardigans and long sleeved shirts. I often wear his shirts to bed because I feel comforted by his smell.

I don't like the cold...

Pure wool blankets (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) The ember months are here now and the temperature has gradually dropped to a chilly level. Because we are in a monsoon-infested country, the chill coupled with the wet days have made the nights way colder than usual. This is now a problem for me. I am naturally affected by low temperatures. My body immediately fall prey to fever, sniffles and cough whenever the temperature falls along with my body temperature. I would lose body heat fast usually through either my scalp or my soles. I already have a woolen blanket, but it is not thick enough to keep me warm, especially when my husband would use a fan when he sleeps. He's not at all like me. He loves the cold; it helps him sleep more deeply. Thus, I really need a heated blanket now, or at least a thick comforter.

Use Vitamin Supplements Moderately

Nutritional supplements are very popular these days. Some of them may work splendidly, while others do not bring significant results. Of all the nutritional, dietary or food supplements, vitamins are the most heavily consumed. Some people even use vitamins as substitutes for natural nutrients we get from fruits and vegetables. What we do not realize, however, is that our bodies process vitamin supplements superficially manufactured and natural vitamins from fruits and veggies. Our bodies absorb more vitamins and other nutrients from food than from nutritional supplements. Supplements are not necessarily bad for your health. The right way of consuming them should lead to a more improved and healthy lifestyle.

Exercise is the key to weight loss success

Image by ninahale via Flickr Weight loss dietary supplements , such as slimming teas and diet shakes, are expected to produce results after a week or so of consumption. However, these slimming products do not effectively work when 1) you are grossly overweight, and 2) you do not pair them with a daily intensive workout. Exercise is the determining factor in any diet program's success. Without a regular activity that burns calories as well as tone down the muscle, the diet program simply decreases the amount of calories, and in some cases, valuable nutrients that the body consumes. Instead of drinking diet shakes and slimming tease, try to eat more fiber-rich fruits and vegetables, which are full of vitamins and nutrients that our bodies essentially needs. Pair it with healthy protein sources, such as fish and soy, then you will not have to deal with malnutrition and hunger during dieting.

The No Diet Plan

Image via Wikipedia I am past it all! Diet pills fat burners slimming teas... Each product just blurs to the next one. They all produce results, but only barely, and only if you exercise a lot. I have decided not to think about what I eat anymore. All I need to do is focus on what my body is saying. When I feel hungry, I should eat, but I must stop once I feel my stomach is almost full. I should not wait until it is bursting with partially digested food. When I am thirsty, I should drink, but I must avoid binging on beer and liquor as well as on sugary juices, iced teas, and coffee. Stick to water to cleanse your system as well as maintain your body temperature. How about the types of food to eat? believe it or not, your body will tell you what kind of nutrient it needs. Hormones in your body regulate your food cravings and those food cravings signify you need something in the food you crave for.

Lessons Learned From My Mother's Woes

After watching my mom complain about the additional 50% fine for delayed registration for private vehicles, it's a relief to find the oft postponed deed is finally done. A friend of ours processed the papers, which include also the car's insurance and the results of emission testing. There is one thing I learned after this fiasco: always mark the calendar for the car's renewal date. Another thing is to always look at car insurance reviews before paying the insurance fees. Sometimes, drivers pay any company that has a booth or a small office near the Land Transportation Office just to fulfill requirements. Later, they realize how limited the insurance policy they paid for.

Spa Therapists In Demand

Aside from health care job postings for nurses, physical therapists and caregivers, another group is also in high demand in the middle east. They are the Spa Therapists and Massage Therapists. Although they do not have a bachelor's degree, these skilled workers have the advantage of skills developed from work experience and knowledge gleaned from numerous workshops and vocational courses. They learned different types of massages as well as alternative healing techniques, such as Reiki and acupressure. If you want to work abroad, but do not have the medical training, then your next option is to study acupressure, massage therapy, aromatherapy and other alternative healing techniques. These are easily learned and take less time to adequately master the basics.

Skin Problems From Unclean Water in Jacuzzi Tubs

Image by StarrGazr via Flickr Luxurious baths in jacuzzi tubs can release stress and ease tension after a hard day's work. However, you may not be aware that there are health risks to using jacuzzi tubs without proper cleaning and maintenance. These are just a few skin problems you might encounter from whirlpools and jacuzzi tubs. 1. Chemical Dermatitis Water in jacuzzi tubs is usually treated with chlorine before passing through a filter system. However, some people may develop a skin rash after using a tub or a pool. If you develop a skin rash after taking a dip in a jacuzzi, then apply cold compress to reddened areas and apply anti-itch lotions, such as Aveeno or Calamine. You can also use oatmeal or aloe vera to soothe the reddened skin and lessen the itchiness. 2. Cellulitis Sometimes, people would rashly dive into pools or use a jacuzzi because of excitement. However, they may not be aware that they put their health at risk when they have small cuts on their skin,
